Lakeland FL - SPCA Florida has been awarded an Empower Polk grant of $5,000 from the GiveWell Community Foundation for “IT/Phone Service to Increase Accessibility” at SPCA Florida campus. GiveWell Community Foundation’s Empower Polk grant cycle aims to help local nonprofits invest in their organization’s efficiency and sustainability. Funding from the Empower Polk grant will allow SPCA Florida to strengthen its efficiency and effectiveness in communication with the public. With the purchase and installation of a new IT/Phone system, SPCA Florida will be able to help thousands of animals each year that depend on the SPCA Florida Medical Center. Each week, SPCA Florida Medical Center receives 1,600 calls to assist with routine preventative maintenance, treatment for diseases, injury, senior wellness, and surgical procedures. By installing a new phone and IT system, SPCA Florida will increase their capacity for care and improve staff and customer satisfaction.
