Lakeland, FL.–Kick off the weekend with sweet activities for the whole family during the Florida Children’s Museum’s (FCM) Watermelon Festival on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at FCM and Bonnet Springs Park’s Great Lawn.
Families can enjoy music and watermelon-themed crafts and activities, including free watermelon slices, inflatables, sponge painting, a book giveaway, face painting, and more. Attendees can also enjoy Pay What You Can Day, meaning they pay any amount for admission to the Museum. Every Pay What You Can admission dollar helps support the Museum’s exhibitions and keeps them available for all kids to explore.
“Just as no two watermelons grow the same, children grow and develop in unique and colorful ways,” said Kerry Falwell, CEO of Florida Children’s Museum. “The Watermelon Festival is a way to celebrate and support their growth through free activities and access to community resources. The event’s Pay What You Can Day feature is also an opportunity to enjoy the Museum while supporting Museum operation and programming.”
The Watermelon Festival is presented by the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County and is supported by Visit Central Florida, BayCare Winter Haven Hospital, and LakelandMom.com.
