Lakeland Regional Health has recently welcomed the following new providers to the medical staff. All providers listed below are accepting patients for care. Endocrinology – Erjola Balliu, MD Dr. Erjola Balliu is a board-certified physician specializing in endocrinology, with expertise in both adult and pediatric endocrine disorders. She provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, including the diagnosis and management of diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary conditions, growth and puberty disorders, and other metabolic and hormonal conditions. Balliu completed her fellowship in adult and pediatric endocrinology at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she also completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica and is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, pediatric endocrinology, and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Family Medicine – Ayesha Jafri, MD Ayesha Jafri is a board-certified family medicine physician with additional certification and training in integrative medicine. She brings decades of experience caring for patients of all ages and has a special interest in integrative approaches that support the body’s natural healing response for autoimmune diseases that affect the gastrointestinal tract, musculoskeletal and endocrine organ systems, adrenal problems, menstrual related problems, and mycotoxin body burden. Jafri completed a fellowship in integrative medicine through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her family medicine residency through the Lancaster Family Medicine Residency Program.
