Polk State Basketball’s Dailey, McCray Earn All-Conference Honors

Polk State Basketball ended the regular season as the only FCSAA Division I program with two players ranked in the top 10 in the state in scoring. Both of those players were named All-Citrus Conference performers on Friday.

Freshman guards Eric Dailey and Isaiah McCray were each recognized as second-team honorees. In the ninth and final season under Head Coach Brandon Giles, Dailey and McCray became the 29th and 30th All-Conference honorees of his tenure.

A local 6-foot-3 product from Winter Haven High School, Dailey led Polk State and ranked eighth in the FCSAA, averaging 17.1 points per game. During the 2025-26 season, Dailey hit or eclipsed the 20-point mark nine times, which included a career-high 31 points against IMG Academy on Nov. 9. Dailey shot 42% from the field, 36% from deep and 80% from the free-throw line as a freshman. He also averaged 3.4 rebounds and ranked second on the team in assists (3.0) and steals (1.4) per contest.

“Eric is one of the most athletically gifted players I’ve had the pleasure of coaching,” Giles said. “He has room for growth, incredible potential and a very promising future ahead of him. I expect more individual accolades as he continues his career as a student-athlete.”

A native of Ohio, Isaiah McCray established himself as one of the best shooters in the FCSAA as a freshman, ranking fourth in both 3-point percentage (.405) and free-throw percentage
(.815). McCray also ranked 10th in the FCSAA in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. McCray scored in double figures in each of his first 13 collegiate games, including a career-high 31 points against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Jan. 10. McCray ranked fifth in the FCSAA and led the Eagles with 75 made 3-pointers.

“It’s been a true joy to see how Isaiah has matured after moving to a new state and playing at the college level for the first time,” Giles added. “He’s a great player and person with tremendous upside and an all-around game that translates well as he progresses to higher levels of college basketball.”

The recognitions of Dailey and McCray mark the first time that Polk State has had multiple freshmen earn All-Conference honors since the 2019-20 season. The Eagles finished with a 5-24 record this season.
