Better Together To Host March Hiring Events in Tampa Region

Better Together, a nonprofit on a mission to build strong families and communities, is offering three hiring events to job seekers in the greater Tampa area on March 17, 24 and 31.

The March 17 job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Countryside Christian Church, located at 1850 N. McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/Countryside or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.

The March 24 job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northwest Church of Christ, located at 6355 38th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/NorthwestCOC or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.

The March 31 job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Hope Church, located at 213 N. Knights Ave. in Brandon. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/NewHope or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.

Registration is now open for job seekers and employers to participate in the March events. With a spirit of hope and celebration, the church-based job fairs empower job seekers by connecting them with local employers who are ready to hire, while offering supportive services that foster meaningful connections and increase opportunities for lasting employment. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are available to participants to review resumes, and additional services will be available onsite.

With job openings available across various industry sectors, some of the participating employers across the job fairs will include AWP Safety; City of Clearwater; Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office; JMI Resource; Kane’s Furniture; Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office; The Reserves Network; Tampa General Hospital and more. Local resource partners will also join Better Together in offering various onsite services, including CareerSource Tampa Bay, Empath Health, Florida Dream Center, NAMI Pinellas, St. Petersburg College and more.

Additional employers and resource partners will be added as the job fair approaches. For the most up-to-date list of participants for each job fair, visit the Better Together website.

The community job fairs are part of Better Together’s “Better Jobs” program, which has helped more than 48,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 24 states.

ABOUT BETTER TOGETHER

Better Together is a nonprofit organization that helps parents going through a hard time keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive. A privately funded and professionally supported organization, Better Together is made up of volunteers who believe helping people help themselves is the best way to restore dignity and bring families together. Through the Better Families program, families are offered a preventive alternative to foster care while they get the help they need. To date, the program has kept 98% of children served out of foster care. The Better Jobs program was created to address the 76% of families that come to Better Together because of economic hardship tied to unemployment. In addition to community job fairs, the program offers job seekers coaching, guidance, support and encouragement through local church partners. For more information, visit BetterTogetherUS.org.
