SEU to host Wind & Percussion Ensemble Concerts

Southeastern University’s (SEU) School of Music will host a Wind Ensemble Concert on Friday, April 14, and a Percussion Ensemble Concert on Sunday, April 16. Admission is free for these events. Read below for more details on each performance.

The annual spring Wind Ensemble Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on the university’s Lakeland campus in Bush Chapel. The concert will feature soloist Nathaniel Reynolds, assistant professor of music at SEU. Reynolds most recently performed as a freelance trombonist and music educator in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. area. He has played at world-renowned facilities such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Washington National Cathedral and others.

The SEU Percussion Group will present “Strata” at 7:30 p.m. on SEU’s campus in the Band Room (Room 149 of Buena Vida East). The concert will feature a variety of music from standard professional repertoire to the latest trends. The works are composed explicitly for percussion ensembles of all sizes and instrumentation, including body percussion, drumming, mallet music and music by Pulitzer-winning composer Steve Reich.
