Lakeland, FL – The Greater Polk County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will be holding their annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Breakfast on Friday November 14, 2025. The event will be a breakfast held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 A.M. and the program will begin at 8:00 A.M. The chapter would like to thank GiveWell Community Foundation for their support again this year as the Title Sponsor. National Philanthropy Day is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy -- and those people active in the philanthropic community. National Philanthropy Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. First held in 1986, NPD celebrates the endless daily contributions individuals and organizations across the world make to countless causes and missions. The chapter is currently accepting nominations through August 7, 2025, for the following categories: Organization of the Year, Individual Philanthropist of the Year, and Young Philanthropist of the Year. Nominating organizations do not need to be AFP members and there is no cost to submit a nomination. Please go to the chapter’s website or email afppolk@gmail.com with any questions.
