Congratulations to Skate World, our July 2025 Small Business of the Month! Skate World of Lakeland creates memorable experiences for all ages by providing a safe, clean, and fun Christian environment for families and friends to enjoy. They bring this mission to life through public skating sessions, birthday parties, STEM educational field trips, fundraisers, private events, character events, skate sales, lessons, and a full-service café and arcade. This month’s Small Business of the Month recognition is a meaningful milestone for owner Chanel Bellotto and her team. “It’s an incredible honor and affirmation of the work we’ve been doing for generations. As a third-generation, family-owned business rooted in Christian values, this recognition reminds us that creating a clean, safe, and joyful place for families truly matters. We’re grateful to serve this community and we’re just getting started.” Skate World’s commitment to Lakeland extends far beyond its walls. “We believe in being more than a business, we’re a part of the community. We partner with schools, churches, and local organizations to create affordable, family-centered events like Skate & Donate fundraisers. We also offer grant-supported STEM field trips for Title I schools, blending fun with hands-on learning. Giving back is part of who we are, it’s our way of loving and serving the Lakeland community that’s supported us for generations.” Bellotto also credits the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce with playing an important role in Skate World’s continued success. “The Chamber has helped us build meaningful relationships, stay connected to what's happening in Lakeland, and grow as business leaders. It’s opened doors to new partnerships, increased our visibility, and surrounded us with like-minded people who care about making our city stronger. It’s not just networking, it’s community in action.” When asked what makes Skate World different, Bellotto is clear: “We’re more than a skating rink, we’re a multigenerational, Christian-based business focused on creating positive, lasting memories for families. From birthday parties to STEM field trips, everything we do is rooted in safety, joy, and connection. That foundation sets us apart.” As for what contributed most to this honor, Bellotto says, “We’re deeply honored to be recognized, it truly means the world to us. Our growth over the years is a direct reflection of the incredible team we’ve built. Their dedication, passion, and heart are the driving force behind everything we do. From our party servers to our café staff to our leadership team, every person plays a part in making Skate World what it is today.
