Citrus Connection is taking its commitment to innovation indoors with the introduction of a new Biophilic Office facility that brings mother nature into the workplace. The new Citrus Connection offices at 1120 George Jenkins Blvd. will be unveiled in a special ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony Thursday, May 8.
The first of its kind in Lakeland, the Biophilic office will be dedicated to honor two long-time Citrus Connection employees who dedicated their lives to the transit passengers of Polk County.
The 13,000 square- foot facility features murals in the front lobby to a tropical-themed working area with live plants and an open A/C system overhead. Sky-blue walls, green carpet and moveable carts topped with plants help bring that concept to life at Citrus Connection’s new Lakeland offices that were once an automotive body and paint shop.
There were major savings on the renovation, feducing costs from $23 per square foot to $14.50 per square-foot. The final renovation cost totaled around $300,000, coming in about $50,000 under budget.
