Lakeland, FL – Lakeland Regional Health’s brand-new, state-of-the-art Freestanding Emergency Department at 6150 S. Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL is now open for patients.
This is the organization’s first freestanding emergency department and will serve as another convenient location to receive the same expert emergency care as Lakeland Regional Health’s Medical Center Emergency Department.
“We are extremely proud to bring our award-winning emergency care closer to our patients in South Lakeland," said Danielle Drummond, President and CEO of Lakeland Regional Health. “As part of our strategic plan, Lakeland Regional Health continues to expand access to comprehensive, world-class care. We are proud to provide the community we have served for over a century with convenient, lifesaving emergency care.”
Patients can expect comprehensive emergency care at this location for both adults and pediatrics. This location is open 24/7 and offers emergency radiology services including CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, and full on-site lab services.
The Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center and vast network of specialists are just minutes from the Freestanding Emergency Department, and if patients need to be admitted to the hospital, they will be transported down the road to the Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center at no cost to the patient.
"This new, state-of-the-art facility will bring the care you know and trust to South Lakeland. The concerns you would go to the main Emergency Department for such as abdominal pain, chest pain, breathing issues, fevers, neurologic symptoms, falls, broken bones, pediatric complaints, and more can be taken care of by the same exceptional group of physicians and nursing staff at this new freestanding location," said Dr. Fred Blind, Lakeland Regional Health Emergency Department Medical Director.
This emergency department is part of Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. This is not an urgent care center. Its services and care are billed at hospital emergency department rates.
