Polk Vision has opened the application for its 2025 Public Service Leadership Course! The Public Service Leadership Course is designed to carry forward the legacy of exceptional leadership that has made Polk County a distinctive, prosperous and vibrant community. This course is for those eager to run for elected office, serve on government boards and commissions or serve in a civic, public or nonprofit leadership role. Through an engaging curriculum facilitated by Mark R. Mills, participants will be equipped with the necessary tools to impact public policy and enhance their effectiveness as engaged citizens. This course is free of fee to qualified participants and includes four full-day sessions held at various locations across Polk County on the following dates: - January 31, 2025 - February 14, 2025 - February 28, 2025 - March 14, 2025 Participants must commit to being fully available to attend all four of the day-long sessions. Those unable to make this commitment should apply in a future year. Application Requirements Polk Vision’s Public Service Leadership Course requires that: - Applicants be a current resident of Polk County. - Applicants are not currently serving in an elected position or running for office. - Applicants complete an online application which includes: • Completion of several short essay questions • Submitting optional (but strongly encouraged) supplemental information at the end of your application: your resume + up to two letters of recommendation (no more than 2 will be reviewed) Applications will close on Friday, January 3, 2025 and must be submitted here: https://form.jotform.com/243296205496160
