The Betsye Kay Finch Performing Arts Foundation at Sardi’s

  

Lakeland, Fla. — Theatre aficionados gathered at Sardi’s, the iconic Broadway restaurant in New York City on Oct. 25 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Betsye Kay Finch Performing Arts Foundation, Inc. Founded by her daughter, Alexis Rocker, of Tampa, to honor her musical mother, the Foundation offers annual scholarships for Polk County (Fla.) high school seniors aiming to pursue a college degree in musical theatre. The late Betsye Kay Finch of Lakeland was a Radio City Music Hall Rockette, tap and jazz dancer and teacher at the Betsye Kay School of Dance in Lakeland for three decades. Broadway singer and Lakeland native, Quentin Earl Darrington, father of the 2022 BKF scholarship winner, Oshea Darrington, entertained at the luncheon.
