In 2019, family and friends launched the Betsye Kay Finch Performing Arts Foundation to honor the beloved Lakeland dancer by raising schoarships for Polk County student artists. For 30 years, the Betsy Kay School of Dance welcomed hundreds - and probably thousands - of aspiring ballerinas, tappers and future Broadway stars to find joy in dance. Many of those students now volunteer with the Foundation that in 2024 celebrated its fifth schoarship presentation. This fall, the Foundation will present its annual fundraiser with a Broadway theme to support the 2025 scholarship cycle. Complete with food, entertainment and a silent auction, the evening at the AGB Museum at Florida Southen College will bring joy to those in attendance as well as the future scholarship recipients.
