Central Florida Health Care (CFHC) is thrilled to introduce its first board-certified Rheumatologist, Devashis Mitra, MD, DM (PhD.) Dr. Mitra's arrival marks a significant milestone for CFHC, bringing over 30 years of medical experience and a wealth of knowledge to our community. His expertise will undoubtedly enhance the quality of care for our patients and contribute to the overall health and well-being of Central Florida. Dr. Mitra's medical journey spans continents, enriching his perspective and broadening his expertise. He earned his medical degree in internal medicine from Nagpur University in India and his Doctor of Medicine (PhD) in rheumatology from The University of Bath in the United Kingdom. His extensive qualifications in internal medicine and rheumatology are a testament to his expertise. He was also a Medical Registrar for the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, UK, and worked in medical facilities in Sweden. Dr. Mitra furthered his training through a fellowship in Rheumatology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a residency in Internal Medicine at Greenville Hospital Systems in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Mitra worked for medical facilities in Pennsylvania and established a private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before moving to Florida to work with Central Florida Health Care. He has made significant contributions to the field of rheumatology through numerous publications. Dr. Mitra will treat patients at CFHC’s current Mulberry Health Center, 106 NW 9th Avenue. He will then relocate to a new Central Florida Health Care location in Mulberry when it opens on South Florida Avenue in 2025. As Central Florida Health Care continues to expand, we are committed to meeting your healthcare needs. CFHC proudly announces that rheumatology is now the third specialty service offered. In 2023, CFHC welcomed an endocrinologist and a podiatrist to the Davenport Health Center, further enhancing our range of specialized care.
