Winter Haven High School will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate a project that significantly upgraded the track and field at Denison Stadium. The ceremony will be held on Monday, March 25, at 9 a.m. at Denison Stadium, 400 Ave. A S.E. in Winter Haven. The project — made possible by a partnership with the City of Winter Haven — included resurfacing the track, as well as removing the old football field and installing a new artificial turf field. This project will cost more than $1.8 million. Construction began on Jan. 15, 2024, and finished on March 9, 2024. This project will now allow the facility to host track and field competitions. Denison Stadium is a major athletic facility for the local community and many of Winter Haven High’s athletic programs, including football, soccer, lacrosse and more.
