Lakeland’s community has proven its commitment to care for our aging population through its support for VISTE in the last 40 years. It is inspiring to see how a dozens volunteers in 1983 saw the need to provide transportation service to 30-40 elderly clients. Since then, the operation has grown to reach over 4,000 clients, that range from 70 to 106 years old. What started as a transportation service to medical appointments has over the years evolved into providing meals and a support system that seniors can benefit from. One of the signature events of VISTE is coming up in November 22, 2023; VISTE’s 27th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Delivery, a great opportunity to participate in bringing joy to seniors in need throughout our community. Plan to volunteer individually or engage as a group with your family and friends to kick-off the holiday season!
