Southeastern University (SEU) has announced the appointment of a new vice president to its leadership team. Steve Saccone will now be serving as the vice president of the SEU Ministry Network, which comprises more than 200 church-based extension sites. Saccone has been serving as a regional site executive for the university’s network since 2017. Within this position, he collaborated with SEU extension sites and regional campuses across the country to facilitate strategic planning, execute marketing strategies and develop practicum programs. “Saccone has already demonstrated effective and transformational leadership. He has forged strong connections and fostered relationships with many of our partner sites, ultimately expanding and strengthening the SEU Ministry Network,” commented SEU President Kent Ingle. As vice president of the ministry network, Saccone’s role will expand to include oversight of church network advancement, church extension site enrollment, and leadership of SEU’s church extension site and network personnel. He will work to foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance culture of innovation and partner stewardship for the ministry network. Saccone will also assist in vision casting for the university, as well as institutional strategic planning and fiscal management. “I’m so grateful to President Ingle and to SEU for entrusting me with this role. I want to serve the university’s partners, resource them, support their vision, and do whatever we can to equip and empower them to expand what the future of education looks like in the next generation,” Saccone expressed. With extensive pastoral experience, Saccone served as the executive pastor, teaching pastor and community life pastor at Awakening Church in the Silicon Valley from 2015 to 2017 before joining the university. He also worked as the teaching pastor and ministry development pastor at The Highway Community in the San Francisco Bay area from 2012 to 2015, and served as one of the lead catalysts and teaching pastors for Mosaic Church in Los Angeles from 2003 to 2012. Saccone earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral leadership from Lee University and a master’s degree in transformational leadership from Bethel Theological Seminary. “Saccone’s experiential ministry knowledge will prove to be a unique asset as we strive to continue building and growing our ministry network through local churches nationwide,” said Ingle. “He has the ability to help us take SEU’s service to the next level in excellence and innovation, further developing our resources and educational solutions to meet the needs of our church partner sites and the local church as a whole.”
