The Lakeland Symphony Orchestra is entering its 58th season of delighting our community with the gift of music, a steadfast commitment to its audience since 1965. Music is the universal language that inspires, enriches, and entertains the human soul and we are privileged to have such a musical force as the backdrop for an enjoyable fall-spring season. The repertoire for the 2023-2024 season begins with a well-known pianist, Robert Fleitz, in Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College on October 14. It continues with a double feature into the Holiday Season, a classy opportunity to dine-out and enjoy the show at the historic Polk Theater, on December, 2. Finally, performance back to Branscomb for the rest of the season. A highlight of the season is the 22nd Night at the Opera, on January 20th. A full staged production of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, under the direction of Principal Opera conductor Robert Moody. If you have not experienced the opera before, this is a terrific opportunity to familiarize yourself with this music form, dress up for the occasion and simply delight in this timeless piece.
