Our Lakeland Library is a place to dig deep if you are hungry to invest in a growing mindset. Take a journey into local history, genealogy, and/or engage with a community of likeminded people. The myriad of resources is a feast for all ages and likes, in person classes and programs for youth and adults, and self-pace virtual learning are all here.
The inviting facilities at the main library located at 100 Lake Morton Dr. are a must to explore. The History and Culture Center space is beautifully designed to visually engage us in each exhibit. Visit the current exhibit The Ties That Bind: 1880-1925 or immerse yourself in classes and lectures like the Lecture Series on October 12, 2023, and Focus on Family Search on October 23, 2023. To learn more about upcoming events, stop-by anytime Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. or simply take a virtual historical tour.
The fun continues at the Larry R. Jackson Branch at 1700 N. Florida Ave., calling beginners and experts, ages 5 - 17, to the LEGO Club on September 5, 2023, from 5 - 6:30 p.m.; or plan for Friday’s Crafternoon. Unfortunately, the E-Library at the Myriam Plaza in South Lakeland, last day of service will be September 2, 2023. A new public Library, the Kelly Branch at 404 imperial Blvd. is scheduled to open Monday, September 18, 2023. It will offer services like small popular materials collection, Wi-Fi access, printing, faxing, scanning, self-serve book lockers, technology assistance, general seating and much more!
