Lakeland, FL— Macho gets a second chance! Macho, a Pitbull mix puppy in desperate need of medical attention, was transferred to SPCA Florida from another Florida shelter. He had sustained a traumatic injury to his body wall and a fractured proximal left femur. At only 8 weeks old, this adorable, sweet puppy with big grey, blue eyes, had endured massive pain and abuse. SPCA Florida’s Shelter Veterinarian, Dr. Robyn Barton performed lifesaving surgery on Macho, repairing Macho’s stomach wall and placing a pin in his left rear leg. Healing in foster care, Macho flourished and became a happy puppy again. Typical of a normal pup, Macho is high energy, food motivated, and loves to play. Thankfully, someone cared enough to rescue him which started his journey from one shelter to another where he could receive the medical care that would change his destiny. SPCA Florida makes miracles happen every day, eliminating pain and suffering by repairing the injured, ending the suffering, and providing daily doses of loving care. Macho’s body took time to heal but his spirit made a quick and full recovery. Macho is currently available for adoption at SPCA Florida.
