Still making St. Patrick's Day plans? ExploreLKLD is here with our top picks for what to do in Lakeland on this Irish clad holiday. From live music to green beer and special made delicacies, our city is the place to celebrate this year. Our top three selections for your St. Paddy's Day are at some of Lakeland's finest businesses: Molly McHugh's Irish Pub, Publix Greenwise Market and Beef O’ Brady’s! Molly McHugh’s Irish Pub: First on our list is Molly’s! This year they’re continuing a long-standing tradition with the 27t Annual St. Patrick’s Day Street Party. On March 18, family-friendly festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. while the 21+ event begins at 9:00 p.m. The Black Velvet Band will be performing as Lakelanders gather downtown to celebrate the occasion, along with raffles, prizes and giveaways! It gets better- there will also be a special, authentic food menu for the event featuring Irish staples such as corned beef and cabbage, Irish Stew, fish and chips, and more. Molly McHugh’s Irish Pub has a rich Irish-rooted history, since founding owner Jerry McHugh moved to the United States from a small farming village in County Galway, Ireland. Now with Jerry’s son Jack at the helm, Molly McHugh’s has been a staple in Lakeland’s downtown nightlife since 1996. Plus, Molly’s was recognized by the Lakeland Chamber as the 2021 Linder Small Business of the Year! Publix Greenwise Market: Staying true to their name, Publix Greenwise is hosting a celebration in honor of the green-est day of the year! This event will be held on March 17 from 4:00-8:00 PM at The Shoppes at Lake Miriam Crossing! There will be live music, drink specials and Irish inspired cheese boards. In addition, the hot bar will be $1 off per pound and will include special dishes like bangers & mash and corned beef & cabbage. The fun doesn’t stop there, though, because if you’re feeling lucky you can participate in the shamrock hunt. To take part in the fun, look for a hidden shamrock in the store’s aisles and bring it to an associate to win a gift card! The event is free, and no tickets are necessary! Stay up to date on your favorite grocery chain with their 2023 event calendar and come in for their daily specials such as Taco Tuesday and Sushi Wednesday. Beef O’ Brady’s: Stop by Beef O’ Brady’s for an extra special celebration all day long! The sports bar will be selling green Guinness beer and corned beef & cabbage all day on March 17. In addition, they will have Fish & Chips Friday all day, with the entree only being $9.99! Want to celebrate on a different day? Swing over to Beef O’ Brady’s for their $7.99 Burger Mondays, 2 for 7. 99 Taco & 3.49 Kids Meal Tuesdays, 99 cent Wing Wednesdays, or $10.99 Philly Thursdays. Kids eat for $2.99 on kids’ night, so be sure to ask about the special for your next family outing! Offering constantly rotating craft beers, value combos and award-winning wings, Beef O’ Brady’s has the perfect atmosphere to catch up with friends and celebrate everyone’s favorite green clad holiday!
