Members of the media are invited to attend an event commemorating the completion of a new school site in Haines City. This celebration will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the school site unofficially named Scenic Terrace. The attached map can help orient you to where the Scenic Terrace facility is located. We recommend entering the following address into your GPS navigation app and keep an eye out for the event signage: 2755 State Road 17 Haines City, FL 33844. The Scenic Terrace site measures nearly 157,000 square feet and has capacity to serve about 1,600 students. The campus includes brand-new classrooms and science labs, a TV studio, art and music rooms, and two playgrounds. Scenic Terrace is currently serving as a temporary home for Elbert Elementary, which is undergoing a complete modernization. Once construction is complete at Elbert, PCPS will then transform Scenic Terrace into a traditional K-8 zoned public school, providing more capacity to serve our rapidly growing district. This project was made possible through a unique partnership involving a long-term lease/purchase of the Scenic Terrace facility. This partnership provides an innovative way for PCPS to effectively use available financial resources to create modern learning spaces for students.
