Members of the public are invited to join Talbot House Ministries at 5:30 p.m. October 19 at the RP Funding Center (701 W Lime St., Lakeland, FL 33815) for its annual fundraising banquet, themed “Unraveling Homelessness” this year. Admission is $75 per person; pre-registration is required and available now online.Members of the media are welcome to attend. This year, Talbot House analyzes the five “common threads” that lead many of our clients to homelessness, including poverty, illness, abuse, food insecurity, and housing. Speakers will discuss how Talbot House’s programs are designed to address each of these critical needs and how, together, our community can weave a stronger and more resilient future. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; a buffet dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Guests should attend with an understanding that an invitation will be presented to financially support the mission of Talbot House Ministries. The keynote speaker this year is Rev. David McEntire, recently retired senior pastor of First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. Musical entertainment will be provided by singer, songwriter, and musician Geri Blount. Stacy Campbell-Domineck, President and CEO of CareerSource Polk, will serve as emcee. The evening will also include inspirational client testimonials and a silent auction, which will close at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. Auction items include gift baskets and packages from local businesses and beautiful handmade Talbot House cutting/charcuterie boards.
