The Lakeland Chamber and Age Friendly Lakeland are teaming up to recognize businesses wthat support older adults as they build their locations and train their staff.
An “age-friendly” business considers the needs of older adults and creates a barrier-free environment that enables people of all ages and abilities to visit, shop and fully access the location’s spaces and use the offered services.
Age Friendly Lakleand has developed a self-assessment for businesses to review their policies and practices. Those seccessfully completing the assessment will receive a special badge and listing in the "Age-Friendly Business" category at LakelandChamber.com.
