BRANDON, Fla. (January 9, 2022) - HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has promoted Shannon Vanek, MHA, BSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, NE-BC, to assistant chief nursing officer (ACNO), effective January 9, 2023. Vanek joined HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in 2017 as director of Women’s Services. In this role, she had daily oversight of high-risk labor and delivery patients as well as the nursery, mom and baby unit and gynecology. She also served as interim director of Pediatric Services and has experience as a labor and delivery charge nurse, case manager and nursing supervisor. “We are very excited to welcome Shannon into her new role at Brandon Hospital,” said Kyle Thrift, MBA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, chief nursing officer at Brandon Hospital. “Shannon brings vast experiences with an expertise in women’s services. During her time at Brandon Hospital, she has consistently made strides to improve patient experience and employee engagement.” Vanek holds a Master’s in Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. She is also a graduate of HCA Healthcare’s Leadership Development Program.
