Many physicians use CT and CT angiography to diagnose, evaluate, or rule out heart disease. Despite CT’s ability to pinpoint blockages in the coronary arteries, it cannot differentiate healthy tissue from abnormal tissue within the heart. Radiology Imaging Specialists offer Cardiac MRIs, which offer a more defined look at the heart. It can distinguish the thickness and size of the heart's chambers. Yes! An Amyloid scan is used to distinguish normal tissue from diseased tissue and can detect the brain’s level of amyloid plaque, which is an indicator of Alzheimer’s disease. A negative scan indicates that the symptoms of cognitive decline are caused by something other than Alzheimer’s, and is useful for ruling out the disease. While a positive scan does not necessarily confirm Alzheimer's, it can help manage treatment options. Learn about brain imaging services at Radiology Imaging Specialists: https://lnkd.in/gtMdmaz
